Why? We identified this rural area of Southern Malawi . There was only limited input by larger agencies and governmental funders and the mainly susbsitence farmers were struggling to make a living after two seasons of drought. At this sort of grass roots level, our modest investment of time, energy and money could have a better chance of truly helping those that need it.
When? We first visited the area in late 2012 and visited again in 2013. In Spring 2014 our volunteer house will be completed- ready for the expansion of our programmes in Autumn 2014
Who? Local people are the key to our work. It is their needs for a more dignified and self sufficient standard of life, especially for their children, which guides us. We are agents of the change and improvement which the local people themselves request. There are several of us who are willing to travel at our own expense to Malawi to facilitate a fair and efficient distribution of items and some basic health education.
