Aid to where it needs to be, as quickly and fairly as possible- a community approach by N4BW and our local partners
Floods: N4BW Urgent Assistance April 2015
At the Network for a Better World committee meeting in Liverpool (23rd Sept'14) there were eyewitness reports from Sierra Leone in West Africa on the effects of the Ebola virus. Delia Kay (pictured on left of photo) is an N4BW committee member and was a lay missionary in Sierra Leone retaining many contacts there. She read out an update from the country which revealed the full horror of the situation.
Sandi Lytle (on right of photo) is a friend of N4BW and was a nurse at the St John of God hospital. She was recalled from the country at the start of the outbreak and knows personally many who have lost their lives.
N4BW treasurer James Blaney is pictured presenting them with a cheque for £1000 which will be sent securely to reputable contacts in the country for the priorities of helping those who are destitute because they cannot work or gather food due to the curfew. Also for the purchase of medical equipment which remains far too scarce.
