Network for a Better World hosts its first Annual General Meeting
Members of our committee gathered in Sheffield on 13th February 2014 for the first Annual general Meeting of the charity. It was a great opportunity to review progress and to hear the remarkable progress that has been made in a short period of time. The financial report was presented by our treasurer and an overall report will be published in our next newsletter (and the formalities sent to the charity commission as required)
The meeting also considered plans for a volunteer programme and also for our health education programme, examining exactly how it can be cascaded through the families in the villages over the years to come.
Network for a Better World has built its own volunteer house in Sitima, Malawi
It is good to report that the structural phase of the build in Sitima is complete (using local labour) This four bedroomed house will be an excellent base for N4BW as we develop our programmes in the area. We have named it Bessie's Place after our founder's mother.
James and Julie Blaney, members of our committee, will be travelling to Sitima in late February to build up our partnership with the local people, to verify plans for the future and to undertake some basic distributions.
All of our project visits to Malawi so far have been self-funded and this generosity has helped us get where we are today. This february's trip is no exception- but if you feel able to support it with a small donation towards the items they will take with them then please send your donation to us through the usual channels. We now hope we can generate some more supporters who can get involved in this really rewarding project .
