A young Alice (left) in Africa
Since it has now been published in several places and appears on the cabinet office website – I wanted to inform you of some wonderful news. Our friend and colleague – founder of N4BW, Alice Davidson has been honoured by Her Majesty The Queen in the New Year Honours List for her lifelong contribution to International Humanitarian Aid.
It is well documented Alice’s contribution to VMM over several decades ...However it shouldn’t be overlooked that Alice was involved with the early days of Jospice, helped found Hospice Africa and still sits on the committee for 'One Brick at a Time' – the Uganda charity of Liverpool Hope University. She has also worked for Cafod overseas. Alice is a trustee of the Catholic Missionary Union of England & Wales. The honour is for this full range of Alice’s achievements.
We have spoken to Alice and naturally she is very pleased – although she thinks very fondly of the many good individuals she has worked with over the years in various organisations, she would like any public attention this Honour brings to go to her latest project into which she is putting all her energies- namely N4BW.
As a reminder – our bank details and address are included here in case anyone wishes to donate in Alice’s name. http://www.n4bw.org.uk/get-involved.html
